Dear Competitors,

With the 100th Anniversary of The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Brought to you by Gran Turismo on the horizon, we wanted to keep you informed of updates, rule changes, etc.  This is a VERY important document for all competitors interested in filling out a Request for Invitation to the 2016 PPIHC (opens November 15, 2015).

Purse:

The cash purse for the 2016 Race will be $100,000.   The purse paying divisions will receive $75,000 of the total purse.  Any competitor(s) who break the nine minute mark (8:59.999 or faster) will split the remaining $25,000 of the purse (with a maximum of $10,000 going to a single person).  The purse and non-purse paying divisions for cars and bikes are listed in the 2016 Rule Book.

Race Day Field Limit

In an effort for competitors to receive more practice time and a more efficient Race Day, the PPIHC has determined to limit the field to approximately 100 vehicles.   The program will consist of approximately 33 bikes and 67 cars.  The field of invited entries will be selected through the official registration/request for invitation process.  If invited to participate, official Invitations to the Race will be sent out to 33 bike and 67 car competitors (letters will be received no later than February 12, 2016).  Competitors may also be placed on a wait list.  If withdrawals from the original field occur between January 29, 2016 and June 13, 2016, wait list competitors may be notified with an opportunity to join the field.

Due to this new procedure, the Request for Invitation process has become more thorough and detailed. There will be no exceptions when it comes to having the needed paperwork by the deadline of January 29th.   For a complete list of all needed paperwork (general and division/class specific) please click here.  The 2016 PPIHC Selection Committee will use the following criteria when selecting the 100 vehicles for the 2016 Race:

-Racing Experiences (to be shown on official racing resume)

-Vehicle Eligibility

-Rookie/Veteran Status

-Racing References

The Selection Committee will NOT be reviewing applications that are not complete.

Run Order:
