Colorado Springs, September 4———The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb has added a new executive to its staff, according to PPIHC Chairman of the Board Tom Osborne.

Mitch Snow, 23, has been appointed to the new post of Director of Promotion & Legacy for the annual Race to the Clouds, and he comes to the job with a wealth of background and knowledge of the nation’s second-oldest motor sports race.

Snow has attended every PPIHC since 1995, followed by assignments with KKTV 11 Sports in 2011, 2012 as a race intern, and 2013 & 2014 as a seasonal employee with the title of Media and Event Coordinator for the world famous race.

Snow’s family has been involved with the PPIHC for more than 50 years. His grandfather, Charlie “C.B” Snow, owned Snow Automotive in Colorado Springs and specialized in carburation, an extremely useful skill on the Peak in the days prior to fuel injection.

In 1988, Snow Automotive hosted a rookie from Japan, Nobuhiro Tajima, who finished third in the Production GT Class of the Pro Rally Division and has gone on to become King of the Mountain seven times, becoming the first driver to crack the ten-minute mark and then setting a new record for Electrics in 2013.

Scott Snow, Mitch’s father, has been active in the race for years as a member of its Historical Association and in 1990 piloted a Kawasaki Ninja powered Mini-Sprint as an exhibition entry within the Open Wheel Division in order to develop and promote what later became the race’s Mini-Sprint Class.

After graduating from Palmer High School in Colorado Springs, Snow and attended Colorado State University where he studied Communication and Business Administration in addition to being an executive member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Colorado Gamma.

“The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is Mitch’s passion,” said Osborne in announcing Snow’s appointment.” His background in the race and his family’s long involvement will give us valuable resources almost impossible to find anywhere else.”

PPIHC Executive Director Megan Leatham added her pleasure with Snow’s addition to her staff. “Mitch is one of a kind when it comes to the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, it’s like hiring three people instead of one. His passion for the race and his institutional knowledge are huge resources for us.”
