Summit Accommodations

PPIHC has been working closely with Aramark, the Cog Railroad, to staff of Pikes Peak-America’s Mountain, to secure a competitor lounge for PPIHC finishers on Race Day as well coordinate access to the official Summit House on Pikes Peak.  Here is an update:

Summit House:

  • PPIHC will be providing all competitors one meal at the Summit on Race Day! (chicken sandwich/burger,  French fries, donut, and a drink {one refillable cup per competitor})
  • The Summit House kitchen staff will have a list of all competitors and will provide one meal anytime throughout the day that a Cog train is NOT stationed at the Summit House.
  • We are very fortunate to have been given permission to utilize this space but need to respect the organizations that operate business as usual on Race Day.  To comply with their needs, we have been asked for competitors to clear the Summit House when a Cog train arrives.  The Competitor Lounge will always be open for those seeking shelter from the elements.
    • We would like to make this an annual tradition for our competitors but in order to do so we need your cooperation in comply with their request.  Use of this facility is a privilege, not a right.
    • Failure to leave the dining area when a train arrives will result in a forfeit of all additional meals being given to competitors who have not yet received their lunch!

Competitor Lounge:

  • This lounge is nothing glamorous but is a shelter with restrooms where you can get out of the elements when the Summit House is not available.  The lounge will have the timing, scoring and live stream projected for competitor to watch after their run.  Printed times will also likely be available in the lounge.

  • A competitor gear transportation truck will be available again this year from the Start Line area to the Summit.  More details to come.
  • If you have a smart phone or any other mobile device, internet will be available (for purchase) at the Summit.
