KRDO NewsRadio Will Broadcast Start To Finish Coverage Of The 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb On June 30Wednesday, Jun. 5 2013
COLORADO SPRINGS, June 5——- KRDO NewsRadio 105.5 FM and 1240 AM will broadcast flag to flag coverage of the 91st running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Coverage will include the technical inspections, qualifications, Fan Fest from downtown Colorado Springs on Friday, June 28, and the Race to the Clouds on Sunday, June 30.
A talented team of broadcast professionals and race experts will bring the race to a worldwide radio audience. The race on America’s mountain is one of the most difficult broadcasts on the globe and will be covered from three strategic locations, the start line, 16-mile, and the summit 14,114 feet above sea level, plus race recaps throughout the day from the KRDO news center.
On the microphones this year are former race director Phil Layton, Don Sanborn – Vice Chairman of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb Historical Association, KRDO sports anchor/reporter Josh Williamson, radio veteran Paul Richards, play-by-play announcer George Holden, Pikes Peak Hill Climb broadcast veteran Jeffrey Orman, Maureen Redfern, long-time motorcycle enthusiast and supporter and fan of the PPIHC and radio pro, and Christopher Jacobs, assignment editor at KRDO NewsChannel 13.
