Motorcycle Practice Day GroupsThursday, Apr. 18 2013
For the 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, the Motorcycle/ATV/Powesports Division will utilize specific practice groups to try and insure safer and higher quality practice runs during all practice sessions race week. The first run of every practice day will be a sighting lap with all competitors in one pack being led by a sweep rider. After the first run, all other practice runs will be run according to the order posted below. All riders will be sent one at a time but the groups will be utilized in an attempt to keep faster and slower vehicles from intermingling. All riders are required to practice within their group unless authorization is given by the Assistant Director of Competition or his designee. Groups are subject to change after an assessment of times. The goal of practice is to get all riders as many quality practice runs as possible. A one minute rule will be utilized during practice. If no rider from a group presents to the starting line within one minute of the last vehicle in the group leaving the starting line, the next group will be sent or in the case of the last group, the practice run will be closed.
