Addendum to the 2013 Rule Book: 020613-004
The following change is effective immediately to the 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Rule Book:
Vintage Motorcycle Division
Technical Regulations and Special Rules
Organizers have determined that there must be a minimum number of six (6) legitimate entries. See Part II, subsections 2.4.1 and 2.4.2
This class will be governed by all rules already set forth in the rule book pertaining to motorcycles in general. In addition, vintage motorcycles must meet the following requirements:
Vintage Class – 500cc-750cc single or twin cylinder 4-stroke that would qualify for current AHRMA events.
The AHRMA rulebook restricts many components on a vintage motorcycle being raced in an AHRMA event to components from the period when the motorcycle was manufactured.
For the 2013 event motorcycles in the vintage division will be allowed to upgrade components directly related to safety. The components that can be upgraded to non “period” components are tires, wheels and brakes. All other components will need to be a vintage component. No carbon fiber or other modern material will be allowed.
